Back in 2019, three frustrated analysts were burning midnight oil in a cramped Johannesburg office. We'd spent countless hours wrestling with outdated financial models and fragmented data sources. The breaking point came during a particularly brutal quarter-end when we realized we were spending more time fixing spreadsheet errors than actually analyzing investments.

That's when the idea hit us – what if we could create a platform that actually understood how investment professionals work? Not just another generic financial tool, but something built specifically for the South African market with its unique challenges and opportunities.

We started small, working weekends from Marcus's garage in Kagiso. Our first breakthrough came when we cracked the code on integrating JSE data with emerging market analysis in real-time. Word spread quickly through the investment community, and before we knew it, portfolio managers across Gauteng were asking for access.

Today, we're proud to serve over 200 investment professionals across South Africa, from boutique asset managers to institutional investors. But we haven't forgotten those late nights in the garage – they remind us why we do this work.
